New England charm

why get married in Vermont

Whether you want a wedding day spent in the mountains, or exploring hidden waterfalls, or a day relaxing on the lakeshore, Vermont has the perfect spot for you. All you need is an officiant and your vows, and it will be official!

Vermont is home to some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in New England, along with incredible lakeshore beaches, and waterfalls.

Traveling to Vermont

Although Vermont looks small on a map, it takes about 5 hours to drive from one end to the other. So you’ll want to be clear about the destination you are hoping for with your elopement.

The best airport to fly into Vermont is in Burlington. It is a super convenient access point for both northern and central Vermont. If that is pricy, look at flying into Boston and getting a rental car. Sometimes you can find flights for cheaper and the driving time can be worth it. The drive from Boston can range between 2-6 hours depending on your location choice.

Where to stay in Vermont

The way I look at Vermont is in sections. If you want the lakeshore, stay near Burlington, where you can experience the city or find solace in nearby towns. If you want the mountains, look at places near Green Mountain National Forest like Bennington, or areas closer to Stowe.

There are plenty of hotels, B&Bs, Inns, and short term rentals (airbnbs/vrbos) all over the state.

Where to elope in Vermont

Vermont has such a variety of places to elope. Depending on the type of landscape you are going for will dictate where you want to elope in Vermont.

Some examples of where to elope in Vermont are Mount Mansfield, Stowe, Lake Champlain, Smuggers’ Notch State Park, Moss Glen Falls, and Camel’s Hump State Park.

But I have some hidden gems up my sleeve for my couples!

"On the day of our elopement, Kelsey delivered with her amazing energy. She’s not there to stiffly pose you, she’s there to document the real moments for you as a couple and while she’ll offer direction when you need it, she’ll awe you by catching all the beautiful, genuine, special, tearful, joyful moments you’ll remember forever."

"She provided us with guidance right from the get-go, answering questions about everything from hiking boots to hair and makeup crises to permits, and took our vague, half-formed suggestions (Acadia National Park, foliage, mountain and water views, can we take a boat ride??) and turned them into something both achievable and magical."

"I didn't realize how many ways that an elopement photographer could help you prior to the big day, but Kelsey absolutely has the bases covered! She will be your hype-girl throughout the whole process and will be there with tips, recommendations, and encouragement!"
