North Conway Elopement
Today on the blog: Breanne + Britt's North Conway Elopement! On the perfect October afternoon, these two said I do alongside their immediate family, and their officiant who was also a good friend! Their adventurous New Hampshire wedding was so intentional, adventurous, and easygoing (just like them!) Breanne + Britt are such a powerhouse couple in the way they complement one another's personalities. When it came to their wedding day, they were in full agreement on having a full day elopement in the outdoors.
The morning of their elopement, we set out on a pre-ceremony adventure session in the mountains. We went for a casual hike into the foggy, fall wonderland. There really is nothing like New England in the Autumn! It was the perfect start to their wedding day. They were so laid back and yet so excited for the rest of the day's adventures yet to come! After that we got coffee and headed back to the Airbnb for a relaxing morning.

Getting ready in North Conway

After their morning adventure, Breanne + Britt chose to get ready separately. It was a low-key atmosphere as they took their time preparing for their ceremony with family. Their cute pup even joined in the fun and particularly enjoyed Breanne's wedding dress!

Britt wanted to do something really special for Breanne on the morning of their elopement. He surprised her with a blow-up paddle-board, amidst balloons and other sweet notes and gifts in her room. Such a sweet gesture made her feel so loved. I think that's such a fun way to make your day intentional. You can give gifts or letters or anything little thing to surprise your person to make them feel even more loved that day.

First look in a field

After doing a sweet first look with her dad and brothers, Breanne made her way to meet Britt. We chose this lovely field in North Conway for their first look spot and it did not disappoint! They shared an emotional moment connecting with just them two, in preparation for pledging their lives to one another in front of family and friends.
Ceremony at Cathedral Ledge

Next stop; their intimate elopement ceremony at Cathedral Ledge. One of my favorite spots in New Hampshire in the fall. Their ceremony was so sweet, and having their family by them was so special. Everyone was feeling all the emotions as Breanna and Britt said I do in the New Hampshire landscape. Once it was official, we took family photos, formal portraits, then headed down the mountain to go enjoy some cake and celebrations back at the Airbnb!

How to prepare your guests

Having an elopement entails a lot of planning and communication, I’ve learned this so much as I had been preparing for my own! One detail that often gets overlooked in the elopement or intimate wedding planning process is the guests. I’ve found that the part of the day that gets the most chaotic, as with most weddings, is trying to keep everyone informed and on the same page. So I’ve become super passionate about creating a resource that helps prepare your elopement guests for your elopement! If you want to plan an elopement that runs smoothly, with everyone all in the right place, at the right time, and all thoroughly prepared; head to my post here. Kind Words from Breanne + Britt
"Kelsey Converse is, by far, the best elopement photographer we could have ever hoped for. When beginning the search for an elopement/adventure photographer, we reached out to several individuals but were most impressed by our meeting with Kelsey. Kelsey was funny and kind, gave sincere and professional advice, and made us feel at ease - all key reasons why we partnered with her! Soon after partnering with Kelsey, we met with her via Zoom to discuss what we wanted for our day - from locations, accessibility, how long the day would be, outfit changes, family/friends that would be present - Kelsey thought of it all to ensure we didn't have to!
Kelsey emailed us an extensive location guide about 3-4 months prior to our elopement date. This guide (which was no less than 24 pages in length) detailed potential locations and included their location, difficulty/length of hike, trail information, best timing for lighting, and how she envisioned us using it (portraits, ceremony, pre-ceremony hike, etc). We scouted the locations we were most interested and relayed our decisions back to Kelsey which she used to build a full timeline of our day for us. To say Kelsey took the guesswork out of planning would be an understatement!
A few weeks prior to our elopement, Kelsey emailed us a questionnaire that asked us pointed questions about how we wanted our day to go - what specific pictures we wanted, timing of events, who will be joining us, and how we wanted the day to feel/flow. Using this information Kelsey built a detained itinerary for the day ensuring there were no questions throughout the day and that everyone was on the same page.
Sneak peaks were available just a few days after our elopement and Kelsey was sure to include a wide variety of different pictures. Our final gallery was available just six weeks after our elopement - which is an incredibly short amount of time for the number of pictures we got and the high quality of professional editing done by Kelsey. Our pictures are unique and perfectly capture absolutely everything we had communicated to Kelsey - she missed nothing!
We cannot recommend Kelsey enough. This experience would not have been the same without her, and have recommended Kelsey to several friends and family members directly!"
