The first part of their day unfolded at their cozy cabin in Brewster River Campground. It was a charming Airbnb nestled beside a gurgling river. Alexia and Isaiah finished their getting ready touches and prepared to see eachother dressed up in their beautiful attire.
An adorable Surprise (and Neon Green Suspenders!)
Descending the stairs, hearts pounding with excitement, Alexia and Isaiah were met with a heartwarming surprise. Isaiah, with a playful nod to their first date over a decade ago, sported a pair of neon green suspenders – an adorable and playful reminder of the beginning of their story. In a beautiful exchange, Alexia surprised Isaiah with a pocket charm – a cherished memento of his late grandmother. It was an emotional moment, and I just loved how she included someone that was so close to him, although not present.
These two wanted a day of adenture, so their first stop was a stunning waterfall at Smuggler’s Notch. They explored a bit, shared some excitement, then prepared for their next adventure.
Embracing the Unexpected: A Change in Plans, a Spark of Adventure
As they ascended Stowe Mountain, their initial plans for a breathtaking summit ceremony encountered a plot twist – a thick blanket of fog shrouded the peak. But for Alexia and Isaiah, this unexpected turn only amplified the spirit of their adventurous day.
The original plan was to take the gondola up to the summit then hike up to Mount Mansfield Ridgeline. However, because of the fog, we had to make the decision to pivot. We still went to the top just incase (better to be safe than sorry), but then ultimately decided to head to Plan B.
A small hike to an alpine lake, where they would share their vows.
Their foggy ceremony brought in the spooky Fall mood. It was still absolutely stunning. They shared their vows and walked through the ceremony themselves. We couldn’t help but feel the blessings of the Marias (both their grandmothers) with the most perfect outcome.
You know, sometimes this happens. Plans don’t exactly go according to plan. However, this is why you hire a local photographer or someone who is going to know the area inside and out. Have plan A, B and C just incase weather isn’t in your favor.
Nonetheless, Alexia and Isaiah had the most perfect start to their marriage surrounded by nature.
Following the exchange of vows, it was time to relax, take in the moments and of course, EAT! They decided on a sushi picnic paired with celebratory champagne. Throughout the rest of the time by the lake, they enjoyed a wedding playlist that they put together before exploring a “secret spot” by the pond.
We could notttt believe it. Here, we found the most stunning overlook where the fog lifted just enough to give us a view.
As the day neared its end, they indulged in a quintessential Vermont treat – maple creemees, a sweet and fitting conclusion to their extraordinary elopement adventure. Every detail, every unexpected turn, had woven a tapestry of love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Alexia and Isaiah’s Stowe elopement was the perfect adventure they hoped for.
