Ready to see a romantic Fall elopement in New Hampshire!? Christie + Cayce’s adventure elopement in Crawford Notch State Park fits the bill perfectly, and I’m SO excited to finally share it in detail! While I was only with the couple for one day – they made their elopement a weekend-long event that included friends and family! On Saturday they hosted an intimate barbecue with their loved ones at the Airbnb they rented, Sunday they all relaxed and got ready, and then Monday was elopement time!
Elopement tip: make it a long weekend! Instead of trying to fit everything into one day – spread out the adventure! Having the time and space to get ready and then time to relax afterwards can make the experience so perfect. This is another reason I recommend booking an Airbnb or VRBO for you elopement! Having a homey space where you can spread out and get comfortable can make a huge difference!
We met at the trailhead early on Monday – stars still shining overhead. It was a pretty chilly September morning – but we were all prepared with layers and the proper gear. We hiked in the dark, to the same spot where they got engaged! I love when my couples choose a spot that is personally meaningful to them (in addition to also being SO GORGEOUS!) Once we reached the top of the trail, they got ready separately in preparation for their first look! We timed it perfectly, and just as the sun was rising over the mountains they met each other in their elopement attire.
Elopement Tip: do a sunrise hike! Either for your elopement ceremony or just for the adventure. Getting up while the stars are still out can extend your day and give you an even fuller adventure elopement experience! There tends to be less people on the trails, and it gives you more time to explore, rest, and PARTY the rest of the day!
As the sun continued to rise on this cloudy Autumn morning, Christie + Cayce had their intimate ceremony with just the two of them. They said their vows surrounded by the vibrant New England fall foliage, and we marveled at the splendor of the slow dawn that seemed to get more epic with each passing minute. I’m a sucker for golden hour sunset photos, but dawn really showed off for us! We explored the mountains for a while longer, soaking it all in and taking epic formal photos as the sun peaked out of the clouds. They share a drink, changed clothes, and then we hiked back down the trail. Time to party!
We headed back to their beautiful Airbnb to celebrate with their families! They put their formal attire back on , took photos with everyone and then Christie’s dad cooked up the most delicious meal! Everyone relaxed and celebrated the newly weds; the most relaxing way to experience an elopement reception. Every part of their day was filled with such peace and intention. I love how they truly made their elopement their own, and the way their loved ones supported and celebrated them so wholeheartedly!
