Wow, I don’t even know where to begin. I guess at the beginning. Colleen contacted me after being recommended to me from a mutual friend. We talked on the phone and I literally was like… I HAVE to be the one who captures girls wedding… and be her friend. Her and I connected instantly with having many of the same interests but also just her personality. By just a talk on the phone I knew this girl lights up any room that she goes in.

Thankfully, she did feel the same and chose me to capture her day!

We met for coffee. Chatted about what she envisioned and told me all about the venue, Whiteface Hollow. We also set up a date to go hiking so I could meet Jon, her future husband.

I learned a lot about them as a couple, and individually on our 3 hour hike. I absolutely love getting to know my couples on a deeper level so that I can capture them as they are. Colleen and Jon are low key, simple and just an all around good time. We were able to chat about what they wanted out of their pictures. The most important things to them on their wedding day. And even what their plans for their honeymoon were. I of course learned much more about them than that. Like how Colleen is an absolute beast on the mountain and showed me I need to workout more. And Jon has had an insane knee surgery, but is still going like he never had it.

It made me even more excited for their wedding day.

August 24th came, and I showed up to Whiteface Hollow, where the girls were taking their time getting ready while the guys went golfing for the morning. It was the most relaxed wedding morning I’ve ever been a part of. Her dads first look was very emotional. The ceremony was beautiful and hilarious all at the same time. All the guests were so kind and fun. And just the whole day was one to remember. I’m lucky to have been a part of their adventurous day, and now to have them as friends for life. Seriously.
