Jessica and Matthew’s White Mountains adventure elopement day was one I’ll continue to get emotional over. These two reached out to me and originally were planning to do an adventure with myself and Matthew’s brother to marry them. Then they decided they really wanted their family involved, so we found an amazing location in New Hampshire to have best of both worlds. An incredible view but still able to have their families in attendance.
They started their day a part getting ready with their siblings. Once I arrived, they wanted to do a first look. There was an adorable little shed in the backyard of the Airbnb. Jessica walked over to Matthew in her beautiful and unique dress and tapped him on the shoulder. The amount of emotion that came over Matthew was so sweet. He just took her beauty in and was in disbelief that she was going to be his wife.
After they had a few moments together, the three of us went to the top of a ski resort that was open for some photos. We explored and had the beautiful Fall colors to enjoy. I drove in the back of their jeep and we listened to some reggae. I seriously felt like I was just hanging with two friends and was getting a peek into their daily lives.
Once they and their families were ready, we set off for the ceremony location. A small mountain outside of the White Mountains that is somehow still a hidden gem. We all started the hike up and once we arrived, found a location overlooking the lake and mountains.
Matthew’s younger brother married the two of them and he did such an incredible job. They said their intimate vows, which were emotional and had everyone in tears. There’s something about a ceremony in the mountains that amplifies the emotions and energy. The weather was crisp, the wind was blowing and the sun was out. At the end of October, the leaves were still vibrant and the earthy colors. It was just perfect.
After their ceremony and family portraits, their family left to go to their dinner party. The three of us galavanted around the mountain for their portraits. What was important to Jessica and Matthew were capturing the landscape and nature we were surrounded by. They wanted to remember the views, the feelings and the day all around. So as you’ll notice in their photos, I tried focusing on the landscapes but also the emotions they were feeling.
Once the sun went down, we left for their dinner celebration. They rented a space in a local Inn for their loved ones to have dinner afterwards.
It was such a special day and they created it exactly how they wanted it. They had the Airbnb to themselves to be in the moment together. The two of them got to spend the day with one another and have the best day.
