There’s something truly special about eloping in the Catskills, especially when the day unfolds as perfectly as Casey and Russ’ elopement at Scribner’s Lodge. Tucked away in the Hudson Valley of New York, the Catskills provide a stunning backdrop for couples looking to escape the noise of traditional weddings. Casey and Russ chose to embrace the natural beauty of upstate NY, and their day was filled with unforgettable moments.

The day started with an early morning wake-up call, but it was so worth it. Casey and Russ laced up their hiking boots and set off on a sunrise hike. The first light of day bathed the Catskills in a soft, golden glow – especially in the Fall. If you haven’t seen this area in the Fall, then go ahead and put it on your bucket list!
They decided to have their first look as we approached the summit. The hike has a little outcropping with a ledge that was a perfect spot to change and see eachother for the first time. The moment was pure magic, with the breathtaking Catskills landscape serving as the backdrop for their first glimpse of each other on their wedding day.
From the vista point, Casey and Russ continued their hike to the summit. Once they reached the top, they found a secluded spot where they exchanged their private vows. This was a moment just for them, away from everything else, surrounded by the vast beauty of upstate NY.
After sealing their vows with a kiss, they celebrated with a classic Catskills treat—apple cider donuts and coffee. As they toasted to their future, a rainbow appeared in the sky! For Casey, this rainbow was more than just a natural wonder; it was a sign that her late mother was there in spirit, watching over them. This sweet and emotional moment added a layer of deep meaning to an already perfect day.
After their adventure in the mountains, Casey and Russ returned to Scribner’s Lodge, where their close family members were waiting. Scribner’s Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Catskills, is a charming and cozy venue that perfectly blends rustic charm with modern comforts. The lodge’s garden was the ideal setting for their intimate ceremony.
As Casey walked down the garden path toward Russ, a small but memorable moment unfolded. A bee landed on Casey’s dress, and without hesitation, Russ gently removed it. The ceremony was heartfelt and personal, a true reflection of the love they share.
