I wasn’t sure what to expect of a wedding in the center of Hartford Connecticut to be honest. But Ellen and Mikes boho wedding completely blew me away. I think it has to be the people who make it, because the two of them, plus every single one of their family and friends, were incredible.
I second shot this wedding with my good friend, Tamara Merri Photography. She has a way about getting the best couples, I swear. It might be because she’s so fabulous too.
We arrived and immediately broke off to greet Ellen and Mike and spend some time with them and their bridal party. Once they were ready, we took them to a secluded area in the back of a building that had a really cool rustic feel. Their first look was intimate, and fun, just like the two of them. I loved seeing the way they both looked at one another. Just completely head over heels in love.
We had a blast taking photos and wandering around the city before seeing the rest of their family and friends. We stopped into a small coffee shop, walked through the city alleys then went back to the hotel. After family and bridal party photos, they had the beautiful ceremony, the delicious cocktail hour, then food and cake. For the reception, the band was absolutely AMAZING (honestly the best band I’ve ever seen), and it was just all around such a blast. They made hilarious cut outs of Ellen and Mike to dance with. The band sang and played their instruments in the middle of the crowd. Everyone chatted and caught up, and also danced the night away. They knew how to throw a fun boho wedding, that ended up being just like they imagined. Just see so for yourself!
