FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
I recently had an unforgettable experience photographing an elopement in Hudson Valley, New York. Getting married in this area of Upstate New York is such a magical experience. You have mountains, waterfalls, valleys, rivers and adorable towns. I was stoked when Amanda and Brian told me they were thinking of eloping in the Catskills.
And guess what? The couple decided to include their adorable little munchkin in the celebration! It was such a unique twist on a traditional elopement. I was so excited to capture those special moments for them.
Let me start by saying that the Catskills never fail to impress. The lush greenery, rolling hills, and charming little towns make it the perfect backdrop for an intimate and romantic affair. And that’s exactly what this elopement was all about – a celebration of love in the heart of nature.
If you’re looking at eloping in the Catskills, make sure you check out Kristin and Bobby’s Waterfall Elopement!
Amanda and Brian had chosen a cozy AirBnB tucked away in the Catskills, which served as their own little haven for the ceremony. The backyard of the property transformed into an intimate ceremony space, adorned with twinkling lights. It was pure magic!
What made this elopement particularly unique was the inclusion of their best friends and the two sweet little children. The couple wanted their son to witness and be a part of this beautiful milestone in their lives. His timidness and sweet smiles made it even more special.
As a photographer, my job was to capture all the love, joy, and emotion in every shot. I didn’t want to just focus on the couple; I wanted to make sure both of the children’s participation were also beautifully documented. It was a joyous challenge to capture those candid moments, whether it was the little ones’ hugging the legs of the bride’s friend during the vows or the two of them sweetly playing together inside the house.
The entire day was filled with so much love, laughter, and pure happiness. It was a reminder that love comes in all shapes and sizes, and adding children to the mix only amplifies the joy. This elopement in the Catskills was truly an amazing day, and I feel honored to have been a part of it.
If you’re thinking of eloping or planning a small, intimate wedding, don’t hesitate to consider the Catskills as your backdrop. And if you have a child, like this lovely couple did, involving them in your special day can create beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. Trust me, there’s something truly magical about having your little one witness and be a part of such a cherished moment in your lives.
So, here’s to love, laughter, the Catskills, and creating beautiful memories with our loved ones. Until next time, keep spreading the love and treasuring those special moments!
